Privacy Policy for TrimCargo
TrimCargo is a suite of Android, iOS and Windows draft-survey, hold-trimming and loading-limit tools for marine cargo professionals. This policy explains what data the apps handle, where it is stored and the choices available to you.
1. Summary in plain language
- Vessel, voyage, survey and calculation data is stored locally by default.
- TrimCargo Cloud is optional. Operational vessel and voyage content is uploaded only when you explicitly select it.
- When you use an account or cloud feature, account, device, access, purchase-verification and security metadata is sent as needed to authenticate you, manage access and protect the service.
- The apps contain no advertising, behavioural analytics or cross-app tracking.
- Photos, survey videos, reports and source code are not uploaded to TrimCargo Cloud.
- Optional Android microphone access is used only when you start Slow Mo voice pairing. TrimCargo does not retain that microphone audio or upload it to TrimCargo Cloud.
- You can delete local records and request deletion of your cloud account and associated cloud data.
2. Data the apps handle
The apps process information you enter or capture to perform draft-survey and cargo calculations. This can include vessel particulars and hydrostatics; survey readings and deductions; draft-mark photos; Slo-Mo survey video and observation pairs; voyage and cargo records; app preferences; trial or purchase status; and files you explicitly import or export.
If you use an optional cloud account, the service processes your email address, Supabase user identifier, app-generated installation or registered-device identifier, platform, device display name, app version and build, last-seen time, trial or entitlement status, store product and purchase state, and the transaction identifier or purchase token needed to verify, link or restore access. Selected cloud workspaces contain the chosen vessel Master CSV, voyage archive data, revision information, update time and source-device identifier.
Supabase and its infrastructure providers also process connection and authentication logs such as IP address, user agent, request time and authentication event. These records support sign-in, account recovery, rate limiting, fraud and abuse prevention, troubleshooting and service security.
3. Storage and transfers
Operational data is stored inside the app’s private storage on your device. It leaves the device only when you choose an export, share or operational cloud-upload action. TrimCargo does not automatically back up or synchronize local operational records.
On Android, app-private backup and device transfer are disabled. Retained Slo-Mo recordings may be saved in Movies/TrimCargo, remain after uninstall until you delete them and may be handled separately by media-backup settings you control. On iOS, app-owned camera evidence is excluded from device backup and is removed when the app is deleted; other local app data may follow Apple backup and device-transfer settings. Windows records remain local unless copied by a backup tool you configure.
Primary optional cloud account and workspace records are hosted by Supabase in its Oceania region. Security and operational logs may be processed or retained by Supabase and its infrastructure providers under their current service and subprocessor arrangements. Access controls restrict each workspace record to its owning signed-in account.
4. Permissions
- Camera: used only when you choose a draft-reading or survey-recording action.
- Microphone on Android: requested only when you start optional Slow Mo voice pairing. Speech recognition runs on the device when on-device recognition is available. Where Android on-device recognition is unavailable, the device's configured speech-recognition service may process or transmit the audio to its provider in real time. TrimCargo does not retain that microphone audio or upload it to TrimCargo Cloud. Manual entry remains available.
- Photo or video picker: grants access only to the item you select. A selected video may already contain audio created by another camera or media app; TrimCargo does not use or upload that audio. On Android, a selected Slo-Mo clip may be copied to Movies/TrimCargo for retained review.
- Biometric authentication: optional; biometric templates remain in the device’s secure hardware.
- Document and storage pickers: used for the individual archive, CSV or report you select.
- Internet: used for store purchase checks and optional TrimCargo account or cloud actions.
TrimCargo does not request location, contacts, calendar, call-log or SMS access.
5. On-device processing
OpenCV and on-device text-recognition or camera frameworks process draft imagery locally. For optional Android Slow Mo voice pairing, speech recognition is performed on-device when available. If Android on-device recognition is unavailable, the device's configured speech-recognition service may process or transmit the microphone audio to its provider in real time under that provider's terms. TrimCargo does not retain the microphone audio or upload it to TrimCargo Cloud, and you can use manual entry instead.
Standard platform libraries provide the interface, camera and media functions. Apple, Google or Microsoft processes store purchases under its own terms. TrimCargo receives the product, purchase state and transaction identifier or token needed to verify, link or restore access, but does not receive payment-card details.
6. Portable records
Voyages can be exported in TrimCargo’s AES-256-GCM authenticated .draftar archive format. This protects archive confidentiality and integrity within supported TrimCargo workflows, but does not replace protecting the file, any password where applicable and its destination storage. Key handling differs by platform and build; do not assume that operating-system backup or device transfer preserves installation-bound keys. Keep the source installation and original archive until import and calculations have been verified on the destination device.
Vessel Master CSV exports are readable and should be protected as operational vessel data. You choose where archives and CSV files are saved or shared.
7. No advertising or profiling
TrimCargo does not include advertising, Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, Crashlytics, Facebook SDK or similar profiling tools. It is intended for adult marine professionals and does not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal or operational data. Supabase processes optional account, access, security-log and selected cloud-workspace data solely to provide, maintain and secure authentication, entitlement, device-management and transfer features. When Android on-device speech recognition is unavailable, the device's configured speech-recognition service may process or transmit optional Slow Mo voice-pairing audio to its provider in real time; TrimCargo does not retain that audio or include it in the TrimCargo Cloud payload. Service providers processing TrimCargo data on our behalf are required to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable privacy law and to use it only to provide, maintain or secure the service. Apple, Google or Microsoft processes store transactions under its own terms. Camera evidence and manually exported files are not part of the cloud-workspace payload.
9. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete the record, reset the app’s data or uninstall the app, subject to the platform-specific behavior described above. Cloud records remain until deleted, subject to limited security, fraud-prevention, transaction, legal and backup retention. Backup copies are isolated from normal use and expire under the service provider’s retention process.
Where the current build provides the option, request cloud-account deletion through Account & Cloud → Delete account, enter your current password and confirm. Signing out or clearing cached access does not by itself establish that service-side deletion is complete. If the option is unavailable or you do not receive confirmation, use the verified email route below. Cloud-account deletion does not automatically remove local copies on your devices.

10. Security
TrimCargo uses the operating-system application sandbox, AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption for voyage archives, protected session storage and HTTPS for network traffic. Optional cloud workspaces use row-level access rules tied to the signed-in account. No security model is perfect; keep your device locked, protect exported files and install software only from trusted sources.
11. Your rights
You can inspect, change and export supported local records inside the apps. You can stop future cloud transfers by disconnecting or signing out of TrimCargo Cloud, revoke Camera, Microphone or biometric permissions through device settings, use manual entry instead of voice pairing, delete individual records or request deletion of the cloud account. Privacy rights for optional account data depend on your location. Contact us from the account email address to exercise an applicable access, correction, export or deletion right.
12. Privacy questions and complaints
Send a privacy question or complaint to support@trimcargo.com.au. Include enough information to identify the issue without sending unnecessary vessel operational data. We will acknowledge the request, investigate it and respond with the outcome or any further information needed. Applicable external privacy complaint rights depend on your location.
13. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when features, platforms or legal requirements change. The latest public version will remain available at this address.
